        The woman of the thousand voices<br />
        The woman of the thousand souls<br />
        whose bones are all hollow<br />
        and her thousand souls run about and cry out<br />
        Our Children, Our Children.<br />
        They scattered the salt in her heart to preserve the pain<br />
        They scattered the salt to blind her eyes and render her tears many and salty<br />
        They covered her with blankets of salt to burn the wounds and silence her voice
        swallowed therein.<br />
        <br />
        Walking on the water<br />
        she will be able to pull out her drowning children.<br />

            האישה של אלף הקולות
        </h3>
        האישה של אלף הקולות<br />
        האישה של אלף הנשמות<br />
        שכל עצמותיה ריקות<br />
        ואלפי נשמותיה מתרוצצות וצועקות<br />
        ילדינו שלנו, ילדינו שלנו<br />
        פיזרו את המלח בלבה לשמר את הכאב<br />
        פיזרו את המלח לעוור את עיניה שיהיו דמעותיה רבות ומלוחות<br />
        כיסו אותה בשמיכות של מלח לשרוף את הפצעים ולהשתיק את קולה שייבלע בם.<br />

        כשתהלך על המים<br />
        תוכל למשות את ילדיה הטובעים.<br />

        سَيّدة الألف رُوحٍ<br />
        سَيّدة مُحيط الدّموع<br />
        خاويةُ العظام<br />
        وآلافُ أرواحها تتراكضُ وتصرخُ
        <br />
        أبناءَنا، أبناءَنا!<br />
        أُنثروا الملحَ في قلبها كي يحفظ الألم<br />
        أنثروا الملحَ لتُكَفَّ عيناها فيكثُر دمعُها ويصير أُجاجاً<br />
        دثّروها بمشاملَ من ملحٍ لتُحرَقَ الجروح ويسكتَ صوتُها الّذي سيغيبُ فيهم.<br />

        حين تسيرُ على الماء<br />
        ستقوى على انتشالَ أبنائها الغارقين.<br />

        Longing for our missing children<br />
        Our tears would pave the path of their return<br />
        They would tread on burning salty tears.<br />
        With tied golden threads we would mark their way<br />
        Envelop them with bandages of light<br />
        To make them eternally ours.<br />

        מתגעגעים לילדינו שאינם<br />
        בדמעותינו אפשר לרצף את שביל חזרתם<br />
        הם היו צועדים על דמעות המלח הצורבות שלנו.<br />
        בחוטי זהב שנקשור נסמן את הדרך<br />
        נעטפם בחיתולי אור<br />
        שיהיו תמיד שלנו.<br />

        نشتاقُ لأبنائنا الغائبينَ<br />
        قد نمهّدُ طريقَ عودتهم بدموعنا<br />
        كانوا يَخطُون على دموع الملح الحارقة.<br />
        بخيوط الذّهب التي سنعقدُها، سنحدّدُ الطّريقَ<br />
        نلفُّها بمناشف نور<br />
        ليكونوا لنا أبدَ الدّهر.<br />

        שלא יחטפו וילבישום מלבושי עפר.<br />

            أن تتحرّكَ بين الأرض والنّور
        </h3>
        أن تتحرّكَ بين الأرض والنّور<br />
        أن تلمسَ الأرضَ وتشتاقَ إلى النّور<br />
        أن تربطَ أبناءَها بترنيمات<br />
        لملائكَة نُورها<br />
        لئلاّ يَخطفوهم ويُلحفوهم التّراب.<br />
